Volcanic, rugged terrain surrounded by breathtaking beaches, a Spanish island located just off the coast of Saharan Africa earned the name Fuerteventura. Fuerteventura exploded to life before any of the other Canary Islands. A volcanic eruption prompted its birth as the first island of the archipelago.
